Raven Haired

This drawing cost me at least 20 hours of my life, part of my soul, the use of my right arm from the shoulder down for the immediate future, 3 woodless black colored pencils, two regular black colored pencils, and quite possibly my sanity.

But it's finished! I'm proud of it. I haven't worked this hard on a drawing in a long time, and what makes it all the more sweeter is that he's my own creation. For the moment his name is Karasu. He's a character for a book I might someday write.

Have I ever mentioned that DeviantArt has thoroughly demoralized my aspirations as an artist? There must be a group for that somewhere... "I once thought I was a decent drawer, until I joined DeviantArt" or something like that.


I seriously need to go to bed. And holy crap the downloadable version is BIG. Too big, but I didn't want to resize it because that always seems to mess with the quality...so yeah...
